Beyoncé is bursting with pride as her 12-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy, takes on the role of Kiara in Mufasa: The Lion King, while Beyoncé herself reprises her role as Nala.
In a heartwarming behind-the-scenes clip shared by Good Morning America on December 10, the singer, 43, becomes emotional as she praises her daughter’s dedication and effort in the upcoming live-action Disney film.
The footage captures the mother-daughter duo recording their lines in the studio, with Blue playfully telling her mom, «Don’t stare at me.»
«I can’t help it, you’re just too beautiful, girl,» Beyoncé responds, adding, «I’mma be right here closing my eyes.»
«I feel like this is such an amazing experience for me, and I’m really happy for all the girls who look like me around the world, who can watch this movie and see themselves in it,» the pre-teen shares.
Beyoncé, equally proud, expresses admiration for Blue’s «natural» talent for voice acting, saying, «She did such a beautiful job, and I can’t believe how effortless it is for her. I’m just so proud of you. I can’t believe how big and grown-up you’ve become.»
She continues, «And I’m proud that she’s going to represent so many young brown girls around the globe.» With emotion, she adds, «Nobody’s prouder than Mommy.»
