Amanda Holden sоbs over radio as caller’s husband gets amazing surprise
After hearing a touching story on Heart Radio, Amanda Holden broke down in tears.
A caller whose spouse had planned a surprise vow renewal for his wife was introduced to the host. Rather of focusing on the sport, the 53-year-old anchor and co-host Jamie Theakston wanted to highlight reasons to be «cheerful».
Before they were suddenly upgraded to a diamond VIP hospitality package at Kylie Minogue’s Hyde Park event on Saturday, the two first heard from a woman who had treated her friend to a viewing of Mamma Mia on Friday.
After the pop singer gave them roses and serenaded them in Camden, the couple celebrated their good fortune with tattoos featuring Kylie.
TV celebrity Amanda, however, broke down in tears after hearing listener Angie’s story. Angie described the «amazing» surprise her husband had planned for a «back to front» day.
She said: «My husband told me we are having a back-to-front day on Saturday, so I had to wear something that I would wear on Saturday night.»
«We had a walk around when we got back to our hometown, and he dragged me to our church, and I couldn’t figure out why,»
Amanda went on. However, he made arrangements for our entire family to attend, and we were reaffirming our vows. I was astounded.»
«When we arrived, I turned around and said, ‘We can’t go in there; there is a ceremony going on,'» Angie continued. ‘No that’s okay, they have a coffee morning, let’s head in,’ he replied.
Angie turned to her husband after entering the chapel and seeing a familiar face, wondering why everyone was there. A vicar then greeted her and there were cheers and applause.
«The vicar was there and greeted me. He said, ‘I’ve never done one without both parties. Do you agree to it?'» she continued. I decided, «Well, I better.»
