With seven Grammy nominations for Album of the Year, Taylor Swift creates history, and TTPD receives a nomination for the 2025 ceremony

Swift has previously won four times in the album of the year category with «Midnights,» «Folklore,» «1989,» and «Fearless.»

The 35-year-old Eras Tour singer set a significant milestone by being the first woman to garner seven nominations in the album of the year category, the Recording Academy said in a press statement during the announcement of the 2025 Grammy Awards nominations on Friday, Nov. 8.

Swift has been nominated in the Tortured Poets Department category for the fourth consecutive year. This nomination ends her six-album of the year tie with Barbra Streisand.

The «Fortnight» singer has already won 14 awards and had 58 nominations this year, bringing her career total to 58. Her albums Fearless (2010), 1989 (2016), Folklore (2021), and Midnights (2024) have earned her four album of the year awards.

Swift has also received album of the year nominations for Red (2014) and Evermore (2022), however neither album won the award.


Her other nominations this year include best pop duo/group performance for «us» with Gracie Abrams, best pop vocal album for The Tortured Poets Department, and best music video, record of the year, and song of the year for «Fortnight» with Post Malone.

When Swift announced the release of TTPD during her acceptance speech for best pop vocal album after winning for Midnights at the February awards event, she created headlines.

She revealed the record’s release date when she collected her 13th Grammy, which she referred to as her «lucky number.»

«I would want to express my gratitude to the Recording Academy members for casting this vote.

However, I am aware that the Recording Academy’s decision reflects the fans’ fervor,» Swift stated at the time.

«So I want to say thank you to the fans by telling you a secret that I’ve been keeping from you for the last two years, which is that my brand new album comes out on April 19.»
