Which character did Saoirse Ronan voice in Harry Potter?

Saoirse Ronan, an Oscar candidate, admits that missing the ‘Harry Potter’ role has lingered with her for years. She was almost enrolled at Hogwarts.

During her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Thursday, Oct. 3, the 30-year-old four-time Oscar nominee was asked whether there were any previous roles she wished she could have played.
«There’s things that you’ll pass on and then they come out and you think, ‘Oh, God, that was a misstep on my part,» Ronan told me.

«But I believe the one that stuck with me throughout the years was — I didn’t say no to it; I just didn’t get the role. «I lost again; it’s a recurring theme for me.»

«But I had gone up for Luna Lovegood in Harry Potter years ago,» remarked Ronan, who has two upcoming films, The Outrun and Blitz. «Because it was like the Irish character, so they got everyone Irish in, like half Ireland come and audition.»

According to Ronan, she «knew I wasn’t gonna get it because I was too young, but I got to read out a scene that was gonna be in Harry Potter, and it was the coolest thing ever.»

Luna Lovegood is introduced in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, which opened in theaters in 2007 and starred then-newcomer Evanna Lynch. That was the same year Ronan’s picture Atonement was released, and she received her first Oscar nomination at the age of 13.

Ronan went on to star in a number of Harry Potter-related young-adult book-to-film adaptations, including City of Ember, The Lovely Bones, and Stephenie Meyer’s The Host.
HBO’s reboot series version of the Harry Potter franchise is presently casting, with an open call for children aged 9 to 11 from the United Kingdom or Ireland to play Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley. (In the movies, they were played by Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint.)

The casting call stated, «We are committed to inclusive and diverse casting.» Please submit competent performers for all roles, regardless of ethnicity, sех, disability, race, sехuаl orientation, gender identity, or any other legally protected basis, unless otherwise specified.
