Wayne Northrop, the actor renowned for his roles on Days of Our Lives and Dynasty, has passed away at the age of 77

He died in Los Angeles on November 29 at the Motion Picture and Television Woodland Hills Home, six years after being diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease. His wife, actress Lynn Herring Northrop, 66, shared that Wayne «took his last breath in the arms of his family.»

A devoted husband of 43 years and father to two sons, Hank and Grady, he was also a passionate rancher and friend to many.

Northrop, best known for his role as Roman Brady on Days of Our Lives from 1981-1984 and 1991-1994, appeared in over 1,000 episodes.

He also played Michael Culhane on Dynasty and Rex Stanton on Port Charles, with guest spots on shows like L.A. Law, Hotel, and Cold Case.

Born in Sumner, Wash., Northrop graduated from the University of Washington and later pursued acting in Hollywood.

Along with his wife, he ran a cattle ranch in Raymond, Calif., dedicated to environmental conservation, and restored a historic 1886 home as a museum. He is survived by his wife, sons, and stepmother.
