Sylvester Stallone admits he was a «coward» for sending a breakup letter to Jennifer Flavin via FedEx while they were still dating.

Sylvester Stallone is reflecting on his controversial decision to break up with future wife Jennifer Flavin through a 1994 letter sent via FedEx.

In a candid interview with Sean Hannity for the debut episode of Fox Nation’s new show Sean on December 3, Stallone, 78, and Flavin, 56, opened up about the moment. The Rocky star admitted that after six years of dating, he did indeed send Flavin a breakup letter.

“That’s the most insincere breakup you can do,” Stallone confessed, calling himself a «coward» for not confronting his feelings directly. “You put it down in words because you don’t have the courage to do it face to face.” He also noted that he may have avoided the difficult conversation in person because “a part of me didn’t want to” end the relationship.

Flavin had previously shared details about the breakup in a 1994 interview.

“He sent me a six-page handwritten letter, in pen. It was pretty messy,” she recalled. “You can’t just end a six-year relationship with a letter. It’s not like I was going to beg him to come back or anything, I just wanted to talk.”

At the time, Flavin didn’t understand why Stallone ended the relationship, but she later learned it was because he had been involved with supermodel Janice Dickinson.

Despite this, the couple reunited the following year and eventually married in 1997.

After 25 years of marriage, Flavin filed for divorce in August 2022 in Florida. However, just a month later, the couple reconciled, with a source revealing they «decided to reverse course and try again.»

Two years after briefly discussing divorce, the couple remains strong.

In May 2024, the Rambo star celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary on Instagram, sharing photos from their 1997 wedding in London.

«27 years with the love of my life,» he wrote in the post.

Flavin responded in the comments, saying, «I love you. Forever us!»
