Selena Gomez urges her admirers to stop making assumptions about her appearance.
The 32-year-old addressed recent internet rumors that the «Lose You to Love Me» singer had had cosmetic surgery in response to a TikTok video published in 2023 by a medical assistant in a Florida plastic surgeon’s clinic on July 27.
«Really, I detest this,» Selena wrote in her comment on the post.
The star of the Only Murders in the Building continued, saying, «I have Botox,» and that she was «on stripes because of flare up.» That is all. Give me some space.»
Fans conjectured that Selena, who has lupus and disclosed on social media last December that she received Botox, might have spelled «stripes» incorrectly.
The actress’s visage was shown in the film in two side-by-side pictures, one from a few years ago and the other at the 2023 Golden Globes, shot by Marissa Barrionuevo, the PA.
Regarding potential variations in Selena’s look, the TikToker refrained from speculating.
«I think she’s been through so much in her life, especially medically related, so I don’t think it’s fair to speculate whether or not she’s gotten cosmetic things done,» she stated. «At the end of the day, let’s just leave her be.»
In a later follow-up video, the PA apologized to Selena. «I adore you,» she stated, «I really do mean the best, so I apologize if this rubbed you the wrong way in any way whatsoever.»
She said, «You don’t owe it to anyone to tell us why you don’t look the same as when you did when you were a teenage or in your twenties.»
