Sabrina Carpenter reacts to wig rumours during ‘Short ‘n’ Sweet’ tour
Social media fans have been in a frenzy over the 25-year-old pop star’s thick blonde hair.
Sabrina Carpenter is addressing a tricky situation.
The 25-year-old pop sensation took to Instagram to address fan speculation that she wears a wig onstage during her Short ‘n’ Sweet concert tour.
Carpenter made a sneaky move on Sunday, Oct. 6, by uploading a video by Hacks star Megan Stalter in which the actress mocks the controversy around the pop star’s hair.
«Woman tells her life partner about Sabrina Carpenter’s hairpiece,» she captioned the spoof.
«Babe, babe, I can’t tell if she’s wearing a hair piece,» Stalter says in the video, glancing away from the camera. «No, I can’t tell if its a wig or a hair piece.»
She kept going: «Cause I thought, she’s so hot from the concerts she’s probably wearing a wig, but the bangs look so real so I was like maybe it’s just a hair piece.»
Carpenter’s onstage hairstyles have fueled allegations that her thick blonde locks are a wig, since her tour began on September 23.
«Is Sabrina Carpenter wearing a wig?» TikTok developer @stay.in.the.know captioned a video that has received 2 million views. In the video, the Girl Meets World alum dances to her single «Good Graces.»
In the comments, fans speculated that Carpenter was wearing wigs to protect her real hair on the tour.
«This is either extensions (most likely) or a falle, which is similar to a half-wig and begins immediately after her bangs.
«All of this is to protect her hair for her long tour!» one person suggested.
Another responded, «I believe she’s wearing one, but that’s fine! It prevents her real hair from becoming damaged!»
Carpenter’s tour began in Columbus, Ohio, and will visit cities throughout the United States and Canada, including New York, Los Angeles, Nashville, Toronto, Austin, and others. Her album, Short n’ Sweet, came out on Friday, August 23.
