Remi Bader breaks down in tears as she opens up about spending Thanksgiving alone, explaining that she «needed to set boundaries.»
Remi Bader is breaking from tradition this year.
The 29-year-old content creator got emotional in a heartfelt post shared on her Instagram Stories, revealing her decision to spend Thanksgiving alone. She also offered a message of support to those who may be in similar situations.
Bader, who also shared a video on TikTok explaining her choice, began her Instagram Story with a note for «anyone else spending Thanksgiving alone,» which appeared over a photo of orange roses in a vase.
«Know that I love you and I’m grateful for you! Every day, I feel lucky to have this platform and to do what I do. Thank you for being here,» the message read. She followed this with a tearful photo of herself and a note thanking those who had invited her to join them.
«I’m definitely an oversharer, so for once I’m not going to be, but sometimes you need to set boundaries and do what’s best for your mental health.
The fashion influencer’s next Instagram Story featured a list of over 50 suggestions she received after reaching out for recommendations. «I decided to throw on my cozy PJs, enjoy some wine, and watch the new Lindsay Lohan movie on Netflix,» she captioned a photo of her TV screen on the following slide.
On TikTok, Bader addressed her followers directly, sharing a message similar to her Instagram post for those who, like her, were spending Thanksgiving alone.
She acknowledged that there could be many reasons for this situation, though she chose not to elaborate on her own. «I was really upset and couldn’t believe my Thanksgiving wasn’t going to be like it usually is, but I shifted my mindset,» Bader explained.
«I decided I was going to go out to dinner by myself,» she continued, but ultimately chose to opt for takeout based on a recommendation she received. «I was feeling tired, so I treated myself to a glass of wine, lit a candle, and watched the new Lindsay Lohan movie.
Since I love Thanksgiving so much, I found a place offering Thanksgiving dinner,» she shared, adding that the meal cost her $64.
Bader’s Thanksgiving posts followed a few days after she shared a personal update on her social media, where she discussed why she has been focusing on food-related content and reflected on her mental health journey.
«I’ve struggled with binge eating for years, and I feel like I’ve made significant progress in improving that,» Bader explained.
She then showed her followers the selection of food she picked up from Rigor Hill Market, a «trendy little spot» in Tribeca, New York City.
