Prince Harry responds to rumors about his marriage to Meghan Markle, joking, «Apparently, we’ve divorced ten times already.»
At The New York Times’ 2024 DealBook Summit on December 4, Prince Harry openly addressed questions about his relationship with Meghan Markle. The Duke of Sussex, 40, appeared on stage in New York City for a discussion with NYT columnist and DealBook founder Andrew Ross Sorkin.

As the interview wrapped up, Sorkin asked how Prince Harry handles the intense public scrutiny surrounding his personal life, including the recent chatter about the couple’s separate professional engagements.
«I searched your name, and it’s clear people are endlessly intrigued by everything you do,» Sorkin noted, referencing Meghan Markle’s solo appearance at the Paley Honors gala in Beverly Hills on the same day.
«There’s constant speculation about why you’re doing events independently instead of together.»

«Because you invited me—so you should have known!» Prince Harry quipped, drawing laughter from the audience.
Sorkin responded with a grin, «Fair point. But is this typical for you? The moment there’s a headline—she’s in California, you’re in New York—it’s all, ‘What’s going on with these two?’ Is the constant interest ever a positive for you?»
Harry shook his head with a smile. «No, definitely not a positive. Apparently, we’ve moved houses 10 or 12 times and divorced just as many,» he joked. «It’s like, what?»

Acknowledging the ever-present media scrutiny, Harry noted, «I’m sure even this conversation will be twisted somehow, and you might end up being trolled too.»
Speaking about his life in the U.S., the Duke of Sussex shared his appreciation for raising his children in the States. «I love living here. There are things I can do with my kids here that I absolutely wouldn’t be able to do back in the U.K.,» he said warmly.

Prince Harry took a cue from Meghan by sitting down with Andrew Ross Sorkin for an interview at the summit, mirroring the Duchess of Sussex’s appearance at The New York Times DealBook Online Summit back in November 2021.
On December 4, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex pursued separate engagements on opposite coasts.

Prince Harry remained in New York City to attend the launch of an art exhibit supporting his charity, Sentebale, while Meghan prepared to appear at the 2024 Paley Honors Fall Gala in Beverly Hills.
Reflecting on their independent initiatives, a royal insider commented, «The Duke and Duchess have really found their rhythm as individuals, beyond their roles as a couple.
Harry is dedicated to his charitable work, while Meghan is carving her path as an entrepreneur.»
