Pamela Anderson responds to being overlooked for an Oscar nomination for The Last Showgirl, saying it was «the last thing I ever anticipated.»

Pamela Anderson remains unbothered by her absence from the list of nominees for the 2025 Oscars.

When Bowen Yang and Rachel Sennott revealed the nominees for the 97th Academy Awards on Thursday morning, Anderson’s name was missing — even after receiving critical acclaim and multiple nominations for her performance in *The Last Showgirl*.

Yet, the actress didn’t let the snub faze her.

“Oh my gosh, it’s not something I ever expected. Doing the work is the win,” Anderson shared with ELLE following the announcement.

“That’s what I love to do, and sometimes it’s easy to forget that amidst the chaos of award season, but being recognized is a nice bonus.”

In *The Last Showgirl*, Anderson, 57, starred alongside recent Oscar winner Jamie Lee Curtis as an aging Vegas performer facing uncertainty when she learns that her long-running French-style revue is being shut down.

The film marked a significant critical breakthrough for Anderson, who gained fame as the iconic blonde lifeguard in *Baywatch* in the ‘90s but had previously been absent from major award conversations.

She had even earned several nods earlier in the awards circuit, including nominations at the SAG Awards and the Golden Globes, making the Oscar snub more unexpected.

“I couldn’t imagine [it] anyway,” Anderson admitted. “I’m thrilled with the SAG nomination — that’s voted on by your peers, and that feels really special.

This journey promoting the film has been a long one.”

Despite the latest setback, Anderson feels a deeper connection to the success of the film, especially in light of the controversial 2022 Hulu series *Pam & Tommy*, which dramatized her tumultuous relationship with ex-husband Tommy Lee and the infamous 1995 sex tape scandal.

In an interview on SiriusXM’s *Andy Cohen Live*, she explained that she had no involvement in the series and described it as “strange” and “hurtful.”

«It’s just one of those things. It happened, and now I’m here.

This is the best payback,” Anderson reflected on her success with *The Last Showgirl*.

“I’m being recognized for my work, not those salacious moments.”
