Pamela Anderson called the award recognition for The Last Showgirl the «best payback» following the «hurtful» portrayal of her in the Pam & Tommy series.
Pamela Anderson expressed gratitude for the recognition she’s receiving for her acting career, highlighting how it’s allowing her to be seen in a new light.
During a SiriusXM appearance on Andy Cohen Live to promote her movie *The Last Showgirl*, the 56-year-old actress revealed she had no knowledge of Hulu’s 2022 series *Pam & Tommy* until after it was filmed.
The series, which dramatized her relationship with ex-husband Tommy Lee and the 1995 scandal involving their stolen sex tape, was produced without her involvement.
«I had no involvement. No one reached out, which was so strange and hurtful,» she shared. «I think it was unethical and possibly illegal,» she added when Cohen questioned whether Hulu crossed a line by dramatizing her personal life.
Anderson went on to explain that she had been told in the past that as a public figure, she essentially had no right to privacy.
«People told me I was public property, that I had no right to privacy,» she recalled.
When Cohen inquired whether Hulu had ever contacted her to make amends, Anderson responded, «No. They haven’t.» She admitted she didn’t dwell on it but acknowledged it was odd that such a difficult time in her life was turned into entertainment.
Despite the controversy, the show garnered several Emmy nominations, including for actors Lily James and Sebastian Stan, who portrayed Anderson and Lee.
However, Anderson is now seeing a positive shift.
She’s earned nominations for her work in *The Last Showgirl* at prestigious events such as the 2024 Gotham Awards, the 2025 Golden Globe Awards, and the 2023 Screen Actors Guild Awards.
«It’s not the actors’ fault. I’m sure Lily James is a great actress, and I don’t care,» Anderson said.
«It’s just one of those things that happened, and now I’m here.
This is the best payback — being recognized for my work and not for those scandalous moments.»
