My Stepmom Quietly Sabotaged My Prom Hair Appointment to Destroy My Big Day…

My Stepmom Tried to Ruin My Prom Hair Appointment—But Her Face Dropped When a Limo Pulled Up for Me

I’m Emily, a 17-year-old senior, and I’d been dreaming about prom for months. I had the perfect violet dress, which was my mom’s favorite color, and I even booked a salon appointment to make sure I looked amazing.

But my stepmom, Carla, had other ideas. She’s never been fond of me, often making snide remarks that my dad never seemed to notice. And on prom day, she crossed the line.

When I got to the salon, the receptionist seemed confused. “Emily? Your appointment’s been canceled,” she said. “Canceled? I didn’t cancel!” I responded, feeling panic rise.

It turned out, Carla had called in, pretending to be either me or my mom, and canceled the appointment. And there she was—sitting in the chair, getting her own hair done with a smug grin plastered on her face.

I was devastated, but just when I thought everything was falling apart, something incredible happened. A black limo appeared outside.

Feeling crushed, I hurried out of the salon, my heart heavy with disappointment. My dream prom was slipping away.

At home, I locked myself in my room, tears streaming down my face. I tried to fix my hair, but nothing seemed right. My violet dress hung nearby, but I wasn’t even sure if I wanted to go anymore.

Then, I heard honking from outside. I glanced out the window and froze. A sleek black limousine was parked in front of the house.

The driver walked up to my dad, handing him a card. “I’m here for Miss Emily,” he said. My hands shook as I opened the card.

To my amazing sister, Emily, I know things haven’t been easy, but you deserve an unforgettable night. I’ve been saving for this. Enjoy it to the fullest. Love, Mason.

Mason had done this for me? Tears of joy filled my eyes. Mason was grinning from ear to ear. “I overheard Mom canceling your appointment. It wasn’t fair, so I did something about it.”

“But how did you afford this?” I asked, amazed. He shrugged. “I may have borrowed a little from Mom’s savings.

She was saving for a diamond necklace, so I took what I needed and went to Mr. Johnson—remember him? He owns the limo service.”

And Mason wasn’t finished. “Mrs. Evans’ daughter is a stylist. She’s on her way to do your hair and makeup.”

No sooner had he said that than the doorbell rang. Within 20 minutes, I went from feeling heartbroken to absolutely radiant.

When Carla finally arrived, she was stunned to see me stepping into the limo. Her reaction was priceless. “Richard? Did you do this?” she shrieked at my dad.

The driver shut the door, and just like that, I was on my way—prom night was saved, all thanks to Mason.

Prom turned out to be everything I hoped for. When I arrived in the limo, all eyes were on me. I felt like I was glowing, and for the first time in a long while, I knew my mom was there with me in spirit.

The night was filled with dancing, laughter, and all the joy of being with my friends. I completely forgot about the drama at home.

As for Carla, I hope she learned that you can’t ruin someone’s happiness without consequences—especially when you have an awesome little brother who’s ready to step up and save the day!

What would you have done if you were in my shoes?
