My Neighbor Kept ‘Mistakenly’ Stealing My Packages—So I Set a Trap with a Special Christmas Surprise

When my son Mike and I moved into our new neighborhood, I believed we’d finally found a quiet place to call home.

Our neighbor Linda seemed friendly at first — welcoming us with homemade cookies and promises to keep an eye on things. For a while, everything seemed perfect… until my deliveries started vanishing.

Every time a package disappeared, Linda would conveniently show up with it, already opened, laughing off the “mix-up.”

I wanted to believe the best of her, but after a few too many «accidents,» it became obvious—Linda wasn’t confused. She was helping herself.

It began with small items, nothing too valuable. But when the limited-edition Christmas ornament I ordered for my mom mysteriously went missing, my patience snapped.

I didn’t move here to battle over stolen boxes, but thanks to Linda, that’s exactly where we were headed.

One of the first big incidents was when I ordered a special pair of boots I had saved up for. The tracking showed they had been delivered, but my porch was empty. I knew exactly who had them.

Sure enough, Linda appeared, grinning, handing me the opened box while claiming she «thought it was hers.»

I kept my cool—but inside, I was seething.

Then came the final blow: the Christmas ornament. When I caught her unwrapping it inside her own home, still pretending it was all an innocent mistake, I decided it was time to teach Linda a lesson.

I ordered a glitter bomb kit, rigged it inside a box with my name boldly written on it, and left it sitting temptingly on my porch.

It didn’t take long. By the next morning, Linda was screaming in her yard, drenched in shimmering glitter from head to toe. It was absolutely glorious.

When she pounded on my door, still sparkling under the morning sun, I answered with a sugary-sweet smile. «Oh, Linda,» I said kindly, «did you accidentally pick up my package again?»

Furious and flustered, she tried to argue, but I calmly warned her: next time, I’d call the police.

Word traveled quickly through the neighborhood. Turns out Linda had a reputation for «mix-ups» with other people’s deliveries too.

After that, she kept her distance — still leaving a trail of glitter behind her — and I never lost another package again.

Sometimes, all it takes is a little sparkle to remind people to stay in their lane. Happy holidays!
