MY LITTLE SISTER BETRAYED ME AND TOOK MY FIANCÉ — SO I PLANNED A WEDDING DAY SURPRISE THAT TURNED HER DREAMS INTO A NIGHTMARE.

My sister Erica didn’t just steal my fiancé—she wanted more. Betrayal wasn’t enough for her; she needed to gloat over her “victory.” A year later, I received an invitation that made my blood run cold.

Erica was marrying the man she had taken from me, and she wanted me to be there.

But there was something she didn’t count on. She thought I was coming to watch her “triumph,” not realizing I had a plan of my own.  Before the night ended, I was determined to make sure her picture-perfect day was shattered.

THE WEDDING ENTRANCE.

I shouldn’t have been here. That much was clear from the sideways glances and whispered conversations that followed me as I entered the lavish ballroom.

The wedding itself was stunning. Erica had spared no expense, with every detail from the gold-and-ivory décor to the sparkling crystal chandeliers carefully chosen.

Guests in designer gowns and custom-tailored suits sipped champagne as if they were at the event of the century. But for all the glamour, I saw the rot beneath it all.

This wasn’t just any wedding. This was Erica’s wedding. My younger sister. My parents’ golden child.

The one who always got everything she wanted without breaking a sweat, while I struggled to achieve every single goal I set. And now?

She had taken the one thing that was supposed to be mine. Stan. The man I had loved, the man I had trusted—until the night I walked in early to find him in my bed with her.

I still remember the guilt on Stan’s face. But Erica? She just smirked. «I won, Paige. Checkmate.» A month later, my wedding was canceled.

The deposits were lost, and the year of planning I had put into it vanished in an instant. And Erica and Stan? They no longer had to sneak around.

They were an official couple now. I left town to escape the heartbreak. I worked remotely, stayed in random hotels, and tried to piece my life back together.

When I returned, I adopted a kitten and began to rebuild. Then, the invitation came. Not only were Erica and Stan getting married—they wanted me to watch.

But they had no idea what I had planned.

THE REVEAL

During the ceremony, I stood at the back, tuning out the officiant’s words on love and commitment. Stan stood at the altar in a pristine black tux, gazing at Erica like she was everything he ever wanted.

It almost made me laugh. «Enjoy it while you can,» I thought, sipping my champagne. By the time the reception started, the ballroom buzzed with laughter and the sound of clinking glasses.

Behind the dance floor, a giant screen showed a slideshow of their engagement photos—Stan lifting Erica, their foreheads touching as they smiled at one another.

If you didn’t know the truth, you’d think they were perfect. But I wasn’t about to let that stand. I slipped through the crowd, unnoticed in my black dress that clung to my figure.

I didn’t look like a guest. I looked like someone who belonged there—and I felt more powerful than I had in a long time. I made my way to the laptop connected to the projector and slipped in my flash drive.

A few clicks. A deep breath. It was time. At first, no one noticed. The guests continued chatting, sipping drinks, oblivious. Then, Stan’s voice rang out across the hall.

«Please, don’t leave me!» The screen flickered to life, showing footage from a security camera in my bedroom. There was Stan, sitting on my bed, tears streaming down his face.

I stood across from him, listening to his desperate pleas. «Erica means nothing to me, Paige! She was a mistake! I love you, Paige! I made a huge mistake!»

The room fell silent. I turned to Erica. Her face had drained of color. Stan stood frozen, his hands twitching at his sides.

But I wasn’t finished yet. The video cut to another clip. I had cameras everywhere—inside and outside my house, to protect against break-ins.

Now, the guests watched as Erica and Stan sneaked into my house, thinking I was working late. Each timestamp was a new betrayal. And then—the final blow. Erica, lying in my bed, laughing.

“She’ll never know…” she whispered, her voice light and breathy. “Paige who?” Stan joked, his laugh echoing. A collective gasp went through the crowd. A champagne glass shattered.

«Oh my God.» My mother looked like she might faint. My father’s jaw clenched so tight I thought I heard his teeth grinding.

And then, the chaos began. Erica stumbled backward, her hands shaking. “This… this isn’t real!” she stammered. But the truth was there, plain as day, flashing across the screen.

Stan turned to her, fury twisting his face. “Erica, you said you deleted the footage!” “Oh?” I asked, my voice dripping with mock innocence. “So, you knew? You knew the cameras would catch you?”

Stan’s face turned ashen. The guests murmured loudly, casting judgment-filled glances at the couple. Before Erica could respond, a voice cut through the tension.

“Paige.” I turned. It was Jack. Jack was my closest friend—and the only person who knew my plan. He’d insisted on coming to the wedding and even got a job as a waiter to stay hidden.

Now, he stepped forward, walking through the stunned crowd. He dropped to one knee in front of me. The room fell into complete silence.

Jack opened a small velvet box, revealing the most beautiful engagement ring I’d ever seen. “I’ve waited long enough to ask you this, my love,” he said, his voice steady. “Paige, will you marry me?”

A sharp intake of breath echoed through the crowd. Erica let out a strangled scream.

“ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!” she shrieked. “PAIGE! NOW? AT MY WEDDING?!” But I didn’t care about her outrage.

I smiled, feeling lighter than I had in years. “Yes, Jack. I will.”

Hand in hand, Jack and I walked out of the ballroom, leaving Erica behind on her wedding day—humiliated, exposed, and broken.

And for the first time in a long time, I felt like I had won.
