My husband forced me to leave with our newborn because of my mother-in-law!

I had always imagined that having a baby would strengthen the bond between my husband and me, bringing happiness to our family.

But I never expected that the real threat to our relationship would come from someone else—his mother. Jessica, my mother-in-law, has always had a hand in controlling every aspect of her surroundings, and tragically, my husband allows it.

When I found out I was pregnant, I felt like the luckiest woman on earth. Bill and I had been dreaming of this moment for years. Jessica was also excited about the baby’s arrival, but she had never been fond of me.

From the very beginning, she made it clear that she didn’t think I was good enough for her son. “Bill deserves someone better,” she would say. And when I got pregnant, things took a turn.

Jessica inserted herself into every part of my pregnancy from day one. She insisted on attending every doctor’s appointment.

“You need me there,” she’d insist. “I know what’s best,” she would say, overriding my preferences. Throughout my pregnancy, I struggled with severe nausea, barely able to eat anything.

But Jessica showed no concern for how I was feeling. I begged Bill to set boundaries with her, to stop telling her everything, but it was as if my pleas fell on deaf ears.

One day, when we went in for the ultrasound to find out the baby’s gender, Jessica was already sitting in the waiting room. “How did she know?” I whispered to Bill.

When the doctor confirmed we were having a girl, I felt joy. Our little girl. But before we could celebrate, Jessica spoke up, “You couldn’t even give my son a boy. He needs an heir.”

I couldn’t believe my ears. “An heir to what? His collection of video games?” I snapped. “And just so you know, the father determines the baby’s gender, not the mother.” “That’s a lie. You were never good enough for my son.”

On our way home, I asked Bill, “How did she know about the appointment?” “I told her,” he replied quietly. “I asked you not to!” I cried. “She’s the grandmother,” he mumbled.

“And I’m your wife!” I shot back. “I’m carrying our daughter! Don’t you care how I feel?” “Just ignore her,” he muttered again.

When our daughter was born, things took a frightening turn. The doctors rushed her away as I hemorrhaged. “Please,” I begged weakly, “give her to me.”

“You’re losing too much blood!” a doctor shouted as my world blurred into darkness. When I woke up, everything felt empty. Then the door swung open, and there stood Jessica, her face twisted with anger.

“You didn’t even tell me you were in labor!” she snapped. Bill sighed. “It happened too quickly.” “That’s no excuse!” Jessica hissed. She cooed at the baby. “What a beautiful girl.”

“She needs to be fed,” the nurse told her. Jessica barely looked at her. “Then give her formula.” “I’m breastfeeding her,” I said, my voice trembling. She was mine. Everything I had ever dreamed of.

Weeks passed, but Jessica never stopped showing up. One day, she barged in holding an envelope. “Proof,” she said, her voice cold. “Proof of what?” Bill asked, confused.

“That Carol isn’t faithful,” she spat. “What?! What have you done?” I screamed, my heart racing in terror. I grabbed Eliza’s clothes and, trembling with fear and sorrow, packed her things.

The DNA Test That Changed Everything Days later, my mother took us in, holding me as I cried. I handed Bill an envelope, saying nothing.

He opened it and read the results. “99.9%,” he whispered. “Eliza is your daughter,” I told him, my voice steady despite the whirlwind of emotions inside me.

“Please… come back,” he begged. I shook my head, stepping away. “I’m filing for divorce. I want full custody,” I said firmly, knowing there was no going back.
