«I didn’t know Todd left me anything until today,» Rachel shot back. «I didn’t even know he had a will.» «Don’t lie!» Angela yelled.
«I’m his WIFE, and I just had his son. Do you think it’s fair for you to take everything from us?» Her words stung, and Rachel felt a pang of guilt for the innocent baby.
But then Katie called from inside, asking if everything was okay, and Angela turned her fury on her. «Your mother’s trying to steal everything your father left us,» Angela hissed.
«Get off my property!» Rachel snapped, shaking with fury. «How dare you turn my child against me?» «I don’t need to turn anyone,» Angela sneered. «You’re doing it yourself.»
Rachel told Angela to take it to court, and Angela promised, «You won’t win. I’ll make sure everyone knows the kind of person you really are!»
The next day, Rachel called Todd’s attorney, who explained that Todd had left her everything along with a letter explaining why. In his letter, Todd revealed that he wanted to make things right before he passed.
He had admitted his distrust of Angela and apologized for the past. He left everything to Rachel because of the 15 years they shared, and he regretted letting her go.
Tears welled up in Rachel’s eyes. «Damn you, Todd, for saying that now,» she whispered. But Angela wasn’t backing down. She filed a lawsuit to contest the will, claiming it violated her and her child’s rights.

But something didn’t add up. The baby’s curly red hair didn’t match Todd’s or their children’s. During a break, Angela cornered Rachel. «You think you’re clever,» she hissed.
