Kelly McKee Zajfen said she was «beyond grateful to share in this beautiful evening with one of my closest friends» about Meghan.
When Meghan Markle made an unannounced appearance at the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles 2024 Gala, she did not walk the red carpet alongside husband Prince Harry.
Instead, close friend Kelly McKee Zajfen stood by her side at the Oct. 5 ceremony, while Harry remained in Africa following a brief visit in the United Kingdom. McKee Zajfen took to Instagram over the weekend to pay tribute to her friend, the Duchess of Sussex, 43, stating that she was «beyond grateful to share in this beautiful evening with one of my closest friends,» she wrote.
The Alliance of Moms co-founder applauded Meghan’s support for CHLA, calling her dedication to the cause «truly inspiring» and stating, «I’m so grateful to have you by my side.»
McKee Zajfen also expressed her appreciation for CHLA and the «extraordinary care» they provided her daughter, Lily.
«Our journey began when she was just two and a half, and from that day forward, we’ve experienced nothing but kindness, hope, care and unmatched expertise,» she said on her social media account.
«Our team at Children’s has given us strength and hope during the most challenging moments and their continued commitment to Lily’s care has made all the difference to our family.»
Meghan and Harry recently supported McKee Zajfen by attending the George Zajfen Tennis Tournament in Los Angeles, which honored McKee Zajfen’s late son and raised funds for the Alliance for Children’s Rights. The competition took place on September 14, a day before Harry’s 40th birthday.

McKee Zajfen has previously described Meghan, whom she affectionately calls «Meg,» as «nurturing, warm, and open,» as well as a «incredible friend and mother.»
«I’m truly in awe of you,» McKee Zajfen said, adding that Meghan «is always the first to say yes and support those you care about.» «You are a strong advocate for those in need.»
