Meghan Markle embraces her freckles at the Invictus Games, sharing a phrase she’s cherished for years with a young boy!

On February 10, Meghan Markle, 43, joined Prince Harry in Whistler, Canada, for a day of competition at the Invictus Games.

While there, she shared a heartwarming moment with a young boy, telling him, «A face without freckles is a night without stars,» a phrase she’s cherished for years.

This saying has held a special place in Meghan’s heart since her youth, even inspiring her to write a book as a teenager.

In 2021, U.S. Congress Librarian Carla Hayden revealed that Meghan had submitted a book titled  A Face Without Freckles…Is a Night Without Stars to the U.S. Copyright Office in 1996.

The book, created as an eighth-grade assignment, featured an illustration of a girl resembling a young Meghan, and her message about embracing freckles was clear.

«I think some people see freckles as odd, but I don’t,» Meghan wrote. «Without them, I wouldn’t be the real me!»

The book also included an «about the author» section, which mentioned that Meghan attended Immaculate Heart High School in Los Angeles and loved spending time with friends, watching TV, and participating in musical comedies.

It also hinted at her future aspirations as a writer.

Throughout the years, Meghan has remained proud of her freckles.

In a 2017 interview with  Allure, she expressed frustration when her freckles were airbrushed out of photo shoots, stating that she wished her natural skin tone would be respected.

Her love for her freckles also influenced her 2019 guest-editing of British Vogue, where photographer Peter Lindbergh recalled her specific instructions to ensure her freckles were visible.

Even at her May 2018 wedding to Prince Harry, Meghan’s makeup artist, Daniel Martin, kept her look minimal, allowing her natural skin and freckles to shine through.
