Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are extending their support to the Southern California community amidst the widespread wildfires in Los Angeles.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, aged 40 and 43, are aiding those affected by the fires that began on January 7.

Over 100,000 residents in Los Angeles have been forced to evacuate due to the Palisades and Eaton Fires, as well as numerous smaller blazes.

Living in Montecito, around 90 miles north of Los Angeles, Meghan, originally from the city, Prince Harry, and their children, Archie and Lilibet, have opened their home to friends and family in need of shelter.

Alongside providing assistance to loved ones, the couple is coordinating with their Archewell Foundation to offer meaningful support to the local community.

The foundation is exploring volunteer opportunities for mental health support and is also organizing long-term recovery efforts.

In addition, contributions made through Archewell are being channeled into wildfire relief efforts, with the couple partnering with José Andrés’ World Central Kitchen to provide meals for those impacted. They have also contributed essential supplies, such as clothing and children’s items.

On January 9, the Sussexes issued a statement on their website, sharing ways for people to get involved and offering a list of organizations, including World Central Kitchen, CAL FIRE, the LA Fire Department Foundation, and others, that are helping in the crisis.

The wildfires, including the Palisades and Eaton Fires, continue to ravage Los Angeles County, and officials are still unable to confirm the current death toll.
