Kim Kardashian nearly has a meltdown after struggling to breathe in her 2024 Met Gala gown.
Kim Kardashian isn’t one to shy away from discomfort for the sake of fashion, though even she has her breaking point.
In the February 13 episode of The Kardashians, Kim, 44, opens up about the discomfort she endured following the 2024 Met Gala.
The reality star turned heads at the event in a sheer Margiela by John Galliano dress, complete with a lace train and floral embellishments.
But it was the silver corset that garnered the most attention, shrinking her waist to an almost impossible size.
Her bold interpretation of the gala’s «Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion» theme had many wondering how she managed to breathe in such a restrictive garment.
The answer, as it turns out, is that she nearly couldn’t.
At the beginning of the episode, Kim seems upbeat as she prepares for the event with hairstylist Chris Appleton and designer John Galliano.
«I’m not as uncomfortable as I might look,» she says. «It’s definitely a performance piece.
I mean, God bless the Bridgerton cast that has to dress like this every single day. That would be so difficult.»
However, the mood shifts after the gala, when Kim starts to panic while standing in a limo, unable to get out of the dress with help from her friend LaLa Anthony.
At one point, she says she feels like she’s about to «literally throw up.»
«I am claustrophobic. I’ve never felt this way before, where I feel like I can’t breathe,» she admits in a confessional.
She adds, «It’s like I can handle it for so long, but I have to pee, I can’t breathe, I can’t get this off, so…
I was like I’m going to die if you don’t get this off of me right now.»
Kim further expresses her discomfort in the limo, stating, «I’ve never been more uncomfortable» and that she feels like she «can’t breathe.»
Eventually, Kim and Anthony return to the hotel, where the corset is unbuttoned, revealing purple marks on Kim’s back from the pressure.
When asked in her confessional if it was worth the pain, she confidently responds, «Abso-f—ing-lutely.»
«That’s just who I am,» Kardashian adds. «If you look good, it’s all worth it.»
