Khloé Kardashian admits she felt as though she had «surprised» her daughter True with the arrival of a little brother, sharing that she wasn’t quite sure how to handle the situation.

When Khloé Kardashian welcomed her son, she had concerns about how her daughter, True, would react.

In the latest episode of The Kardashians, the 40-year-old Good American co-founder candidly discusses her decision to have a child via surrogate.

She admitted to feeling uneasy about introducing a new sibling to True, now 6, and worried it might feel like she was «springing» the idea of a brother on her.

Khloé describes the experience as very different from when she was pregnant with True.

«It was so scary, and I felt a lot of guilt because I didn’t have that immediate bond,» she says.

«I also felt terrible that I didn’t get to guide True through the process.

She didn’t get to see me pregnant, or at least I didn’t have the chance to prepare her for the baby.

It felt like I just dropped a baby on her out of nowhere. I didn’t know how to handle it.»

In a confessional, Khloé shared that she didn’t have the same instant emotional connection with Tatum, her son, as she did when she first met True.

“My connection with Tatum has been totally different.

I knew he was my son, and I loved him and cared for him, but the instinctual bond I had with True wasn’t there immediately,» she explained.

«I think it was a mix of emotions and past traumas.»

Despite the initial struggles, Khloé is confident that she would eventually form a bond with Tatum.

«I never thought I’d feel detached from him long-term.

I just felt really frustrated with myself in the beginning,» she says.

By the time the season 3 finale aired in 2023, Khloé revealed she had made significant progress in bonding with Tatum.

«It’s definitely gotten easier,» she shared.

Earlier in the season, Khloé had confided in her mother, Kris Jenner, about the challenges she faced.

«The connection with Tatum has taken much longer than with True. With True, it was days.

With him, it’s been months, and we’re still not fully there,» Khloé admitted. «I feel guilty about it and keep wondering, ‘Why isn’t it the same?’»
