Katie Price declared bankrսpt for the second time due to huge tax bill
Katie Price has been declared as bankrupt for a second time over an unpaid tax bill.
It has been reported that the bill is worth more than £750,000 and comes after she was previously declared bankrupt for the first time back in 2019. She allegedly owes HM Revenue and Customs £761,994.05.
A hearing was held at London’s Rolls Building, and judge Sebastian Prentis said Price hasn’t responded to HMRC about the debt. The official stated: «There has been no response from the debtor.
The papers are in order, there is substantial debt due from Ms Price to HMRC, and therefore I will make a bankruptcy order.»
In February, barrister Darragh Connell — who represented the trustees — told the court that Price had a voluntary agreement regarding the debts, but had failed to pay.
The Mirror has reported that also told a judge that «the previous agreement included 36 payments of £12,500, as well as a lump sum.»
According to reports, trustees went to court to request an income payment order, meaning that some of Price’s monthly earnings would be put toward paying off her debts.
The Mirror also wrote: «Four companies were listed, including the adult-only subscription site OnlyFans, as well as photographic agency Backgrid.»
Toward the end of the hearing, Insolvency and Companies Court Judge Catherine Burton stated that the four companies listed are «obligated to deduct 40% of the income due to be paid to Ms Price» every month for the following 36 months.
The announcement comes after Price previously addressed her financial struggles on the Rule Breakers podcast. Back in 2023, she chatted with Michelle Visage and admitted she was «fed up» of facing threats of legal action.
Katie even claimed that she would go to prison just so she could be «done with it all». The star said: «I’m so threatened with court letters. I’ve been to court more times that I’ve had hot dinners lately. I am not scared of court anymore.
I have said: ‘Can’t you put me in prison just to cover it all?’ Just be done with it.»
