Katie Holmes steps out for the first time after ex Jamie Foxx made pointed remarks about their six-year relationship.

Katie Holmes was spotted for the first time since her ex, Jamie Foxx, made controversial comments about being ‘cured’ from dating white women.

On Sunday, the 45-year-old actress stepped out in New York City, putting on a brave face as she flashed a tight smile while strolling down the busy streets in a vibrant green, Elphaba-inspired coat. At one point, she paused to pose in front of a Wicked musical poster.

Holmes, who was carrying a large bouquet of flowers, was heading to the Ethel Barrymore Theatre for her matinee performance in the Broadway play Our Town.

Her public appearance came just days after the release of Foxx’s Netflix special What Had Happened Was…, in which he made a pointed remark about their six-year relationship. In the special, Foxx sat at a piano and sang, «Sisters, I’m here to tell you, I’ve been cured. I’ve been cured of everything, no more white girls. I’m serious, no more white girls. No more. No more white girls.»

As the audience erupted into applause and cheers, Jamie Foxx continued, «I’m back on the black side of town!»

Foxx, who has been in several high-profile relationships with women of both Black and white backgrounds, made these remarks during his *What Had Happened Was…* special.

After his split from Foxx, Katie Holmes briefly dated chef Emilio Vitolo Jr. from 2020 to 2021 and was linked to musician Bobby Wooten in 2022. Holmes, who was married to Tom Cruise from 2006 to 2012, is believed to be currently single.

Now, with her daughter Suri settling into college at Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh, Holmes is focusing on her career, especially her busy schedule on Broadway.

Before her daughter’s move, Holmes shared her feelings about the transition.

«I’m really proud of my daughter,» she said. «Of course, I’ll miss having her so close, but I’m truly proud of everything she’s doing, and I’m happy for her.»

She went on to reflect, «I remember being her age, at that stage of new beginnings. It’s such an exciting time of self-discovery.

I loved that period of my life, so thinking about it in those terms brings me joy.»
