Kate Middleton Expresses Heartfelt Gratitude to Lady Gabriella for Assisting with Her Christmas Carol Service

Kate Middleton enlisted some special support for her Together at Christmas carol service this year.

The Princess of Wales, 42, aimed to center the fourth annual event on themes of love, kindness, and empathy. To help bring her vision to life, she invited Lady Gabriella Kingston (née Windsor) to join her team.

Gabriella, the only daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, lent her expertise by advising on the musical performances featured in the December 6 service.

A source shared that the 43-year-old royal, who works as a freelance journalist, was thrilled to contribute and thoroughly enjoyed her involvement in the event.

Kate “was deeply appreciative of her support,” the insider revealed.

Gabriella’s involvement in the carol service was a natural fit, given her previous display of musical talent in 2020 when she released two songs to support the music nonprofit Playing for Change Foundation.

Beyond her planning contributions, Gabriella also attended the festive candlelit event, held on December 6 at Westminster Abbey. The service, set to air on Christmas Eve on ITV1 and ITVx in the U.K., was a family affair, with Princess Kate, Prince William, and their children—Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6—all in attendance.

The royals joined the congregation to enjoy traditional hymns, readings by notable figures such as Richard E. Grant, and musical performances by artists like Olivia Dean and Paloma Faith.

The evening also featured a special piano piece by Rosey Chan and a stunning performance by two soloists from The Royal Ballet alongside students from The Royal Ballet School.

Welcoming a total of 1,600 guests, including members of Kate’s extended family, the Together at Christmas service offered a moment of warmth and reflection at the end of a challenging year for the Princess of Wales, who revealed in June that she had begun treatment for cancer.

For Lady Gabriella, this year’s event held a deeply personal significance as it marked her first Christmas without her husband, Thomas Kingston, who passed away in February at the age of 45.

After the financier’s untimely death, a heartfelt statement was released on behalf of Gabriella and his family, including Martin and Jill Kingston, Joanna Connolly, and Emma Murray.
