Kansas City Chiefs coach posts a photo of Taylor Swift’s homemade Pop-Tarts, calling her a ‘kind-hearted young lady’
Taylor Swift marked the Kansas City Chiefs’ recent triumph with a batch of her signature homemade Pop-Tarts!
On Tuesday, Nov. 26, Chiefs defensive backs coach David Merritt Sr. shared a snapshot of the thoughtful gesture, revealing that Swift, 34, had gifted him the sweet treats following her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s victory against the Carolina Panthers on Nov. 24.
«Taylor Swift made me homemade victory Pop-Tarts!» Merritt posted on X (formerly known as Twitter), accompanying the photo.
The image showcased a box of Pop-Tarts decorated with white icing and colorful sprinkles, with one partially eaten tart on display. A handwritten note from Swift adorned the box, reading, “VICTORY POP TARTS!! Congratulations! Love, Taylor.”
Merritt later revealed that his wife, Yolanda, burst his bubble by pointing out he wasn’t the only recipient of Taylor Swift’s sweet treats this season, leaving him feeling a little less special.
“Yolanda Merritt said, ‘She’s been doing this all season for different people, Dave,’ 🤦🏽♂️. I thought I was SPECIAL 🤦🏽♂️😝🤣,» he joked on social media, before adding, “Sweet young woman regardless!”
The coach also shared a heartwarming photo of Swift hugging his wife during an NFL game, with Machine Gun Kelly spotted in the background. Swift’s homemade Pop-Tarts have gained quite the reputation for their charm and taste.
Recently, the “Fortnight” singer, known for her passion for baking, has impressed everyone from NFL players to Hollywood stars with her culinary skills.
Fans like Channing Tatum and several NFL team members have praised her signature baked goods.
In December 2023, former NFL player Bernie Kosar shared that Swift had treated her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, 35, to her homemade cinnamon rolls. “She’s so nice; she came in by herself before the game and brought Travis her homemade cinnamon rolls for his pregame meal,” Kosar revealed during an interview with Audacy’s AM 560 Sports WQAM.
In February, Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid shared a fun tidbit during an interview on Pro Football Talk Live, revealing that the pop icon had whipped up some baked goodies for the team.
«Without even realizing it, she was blending right in,» Reid remarked.
«She enjoys cooking, so she made homemade Pop-Tarts for the offensive linemen.
I don’t think she even knew how much that meant to them.»
