Jennifer Aniston has sparked backlash after refusing help during an iոtimate scene

Jennifer Aniston has been urged by intimacy coordinators to be “open” to needing their support after she recently refused help while filming a saucy sex scene.

Aniston recently appeared in the Apple TV series The Morning Show alongside Jon Hamm and the pair stripped off for a seriously steamy bedroom scene together,

during which she snubbed the intimacy coordinators because she is “old school”.

The 54-year-old appeared to suggest that she would find the ordeal “awkward” when required to speak about how she felt during the sex scene.

Jennifer’s comments have now sparked backlash among those campaigning for the importance of their role on set.

“I hope someday my path crosses with hers and she’s open to hearing more about how an intimacy coordinator functions and how best to utilise working with one as an actor, or director, or crew member, or writer, or producer.”

She continued: “Should that conversation ever happen with me or another IC, she still may very well decide she’s comfortable without one, and she is entitled to that decision,

but with that knowledge, she may be able to help educate other actors around her who may need that extra support and hopefully advocate for the position of intimacy coordinator in the future.”

Jennifer’s original comments were made during an interview with Variety, where she discussed the process before she began filming sex scenes.

The Friends actress explained: “They asked us if we wanted an intimacy coordinator. I’m from the olden days, so I was like: ‘What does that mean?’

They said: ‘Where someone asks you if you’re okay,’ and I’m like: ‘Please, this is awkward enough! We’re seasoned, we can figure this one out’.”
