How this weekend, Meghan Markle will commemorate turning 43
Meghan Markle is commemorating her second journey around the sun.
August 4 is the Duchess of Sussex’s 43rd birthday. As in the past, PEOPLE knows that she will likely celebrate in secret with family.
This year, Meghan’s birthday coincides with her extremely unusual joint interview with 39-year-old Prince Harry on CBS Sunday Morning.

In an August 1st network preview, the Duchess of Sussex expressed her wish to shield her kids from inappropriate material on the internet.
«Our children, ages three and five, are small. Meghan told interviewer Jane Pauley, «They’re amazing.» «But all you want to do as parents is protect them.»
«So as we can see what’s happening in the online space, we know that there’s a lot of work to be done there, and we’re just happy to be able to be a part of change for good,» she said.

One of the main objectives of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Archewell Foundation, which they established in 2020 after giving up their royal positions in the United Kingdom, is creating a better online environment.
The foundation’s first in-person event took place in October 2023 in New York City during the Archewell Foundation Parents’ Summit:
Mental Wellness in a Digital Age. Harry and Meghan spoke on a panel on the need for safer online venues.

Families who had experienced a heartbreaking loss due to their child’s usage of social media came together for the World Mental Health Day event, which also provided a forum for discussion on the pressing need for increased online safety.
Over the previous year, the parents involved in the event had worked behind the scenes with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Additionally, Meghan and Prince Harry are organizing a future vacation. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are scheduled to visit Colombia in an official capacity on August 1.
