Hilary Duff and Matthew Koma have opened their home to Mandy Moore and her family during the devastating fires in Los Angeles, calling it «the kindest gesture anyone could make.»

Amid the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles, Mandy Moore’s family has sought refuge at the home of her close friends, Hilary Duff and Matthew Koma.

In an Instagram post, Moore’s brother-in-law, Griffin Goldsmith, shared that Mandy, her husband Taylor Goldsmith, and their three children — August «Gus» Harrison, 3, Oscar «Ozzie» Bennett, 2, and 3-month-old Louise Everett — are being hosted by Duff and Koma after their Altadena home was affected by the fires.

Griffin, who also lost his own home, expressed his gratitude for the support, writing, «Our dear friends @matthewkoma and @hilaryduff thought it wise to set up a GoFundMe for us to help with everything moving forward.

They’ve opened their home to my brother’s family and have taken care of us all from the very start.

I will never be able to thank them enough.»

He described their actions as «the kindest act any human could do for another,» adding, «They are the most beautiful, selfless people we’ve ever known.»

Griffin went on to update followers on his own loss, saying, «It’s impossible to express how much we’re feeling right now.

We’ve lost everything—eight years of memories, 20 years of gear. My wife @quintessentiallykit was finishing the nursery for our baby boy, and she had lovingly created a paradise in our home.

Anyone who visited would agree.» He noted that all the homes in their area had been destroyed, and the most profound loss was the sense of community. «We’ve all watched our beloved home and city become a hellscape overnight. And it’s far from over…”

He also thanked those who have donated to their GoFundMe, expressing how deeply moved they are by the support: «I’ve never been so moved in my life. We are blown away.»

In response to critics questioning her family’s financial contributions, Moore addressed the issue in an Instagram post, clarifying that she was sharing the fundraising page because people had asked how they could help. «Of course we are helping our family,» she wrote.

«We just lost most of our life in a fire too.»

She ended the post with a pointed message to those questioning her actions: «Kindly F OFF. No one is forcing you to do anything.»

Moore also provided an update on her own home’s damage, revealing that while the main part of their house is still standing, it is not currently livable.

«Miraculously, the main part of our house is still standing. For now,» she wrote. «We lost Taylor and Griffin’s studio, every instrument, and every piece of equipment. We lost our garage and back house.»
