Hailey Bieber Subtly Supports Selena Gomez Following Her Engagement to Benny Blanco
Hailey Bieber is quietly showing support for Selena Gomez.
The 28-year-old model and Rhode founder expressed her encouragement by «liking» Gomez’s Instagram post on Wednesday, Dec. 11, where the singer shared the exciting news of her engagement to music producer Benny Blanco.
The post featured a carousel of photos, including a close-up of Gomez’s marquise diamond ring, a sweet image of her and Blanco, 36, sharing a hug, with the caption, «forever begins now…» She also included a picture of the proposal setting, which featured a beige picnic blanket and several boxes of Taco Bell, a nod to the singer’s love for the fast food.
Blanco playfully commented, «hey wait … that’s my wife.»
Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco have known each other for years, having worked together on the 2019 hit «I Can’t Get Enough» alongside Tainy and J Balvin before they started dating in June 2023.
In August 2023, Gomez released the Blanco-produced track «Single Soon.» By December 2023, she confirmed their relationship when she liked posts from fan accounts on Instagram featuring the couple. She even commented on one of the posts, writing, “He is my absolute everything in my heart.” The pair made their red carpet debut at the 2024 Emmys in January.
Back in September 2022, Hailey Bieber addressed the ongoing rumors about a feud between herself and Gomez during an appearance on Alex Cooper’s podcast. Hailey explained that it’s «not [her] character to mess with someone’s relationship» and emphasized that there is «all love» between her and Gomez.
“I can say, period, point blank, I was never with him when he was in a relationship with anybody — that’s the end of it,» Hailey clarified, referring to the timeline of her relationship with her now-husband, Justin Bieber, 30.
Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber began their relationship in late 2010, but they broke up in 2016. The pair rekindled their romance in October 2017, though it was short-lived. By September 2018, Justin and Hailey Bieber tied the knot in a small civil ceremony in New York, and a year later, they celebrated with a larger wedding in Bluffton, South Carolina.
Following Hailey’s appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast, she and Gomez posed for photos together at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures’ second annual gala in Los Angeles. The two seemed to be on friendly terms, with one photo showing Gomez placing her hand on Hailey’s leg, and another capturing them both smiling as they stood side by side.
