Exclusive. Angelina Jolie is not dating British rapper Akala, they are just close friends
The British rapper Akala is not in a romantic relationship with Angelina Jolie.
The Oscar winner is only «close friends with Akala and his partner,» according to a source close to Jolie, despite a recent allegation that said the 49-year-old and 40-year-old were spending time together in London.
Akala’s boyfriend «has also been at every event» that Jolie and Akala have attended in recent days, the insider emphasizes.
«They all work together,» the insider has stated. «Angelina is not dating at the moment and is still devoted to her family.»
The insider close to Jolie has now made it clear twice that she and Akala, whose true name is Kingsley James McLean Daley, are not dating.
In May, In Touch revealed that Jolie had been seeing Akala in private for «more than a year,» and after they were spotted together leaving a hotel in Venice at the August Venice Film Festival, rumors that they were dating again began to circulate.
«She is not dating Akala. The insider stated on August 29 that she is friends with both him and his partner, Chanelle, who was also present. According to a different source at the time, the two had been friends for «several years» and «share the same passion when it comes to social and humanitarian causes.»
The second source went on to say, «They have collaborated on a number of global issues, such as human rights, over the years.» «Angie says great things about him.»
Jolie recently made an appearance in London for the London Film Festival premiere of her highly praised film, Maria, in which she plays the well-known opera soprano Maria Callas from the 20th century.
Maria will be available on Netflix on December 11 and in select cinemas on November 27.
