Eagles’ Saquon Barkley Speaks Out Against the Boos Directed at Taylor Swift: ‘I Don’t Understand It’
Saquon Barkley Condemns Taylor Swift Hate at the Super Bowl: ‘I Don’t Get It’
Saquon Barkley isn’t here for the negativity aimed at Taylor Swift during the Super Bowl.
In an interview on The Howard Stern Show, the Philadelphia Eagles running back—who played a key role in his team’s second Super Bowl victory—expressed his disappointment over the crowd’s reaction when Swift appeared on the jumbotron.
«I remember they showed her, and she got booed.
I don’t get it. I don’t understand why there was any hate,» Barkley told Stern, who agreed.
He went on to highlight how Swift’s presence brought a new, diverse audience to the game.
More importantly, Barkley pointed out, she was simply there to support her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
«She’s made the game bigger,» Barkley noted. «We’re trying to expand football’s reach, and having her involved only helps.»
The Super Bowl, held on Sunday, Feb. 9, saw the Eagles face off against the Chiefs—who previously won in 2023 and 2024.
After a scoreless first half, the Eagles secured a dominant 40-22 victory.
For Barkley, the game was particularly meaningful, as it coincided with his 28th birthday.
Reflecting on his journey, he told that his younger self would be incredibly proud of how far he’s come.
