During her appearance at the Summer Olympics opening ceremony, Celine Dion sang a mоving song
All eyes were on Céline Dion at the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony as she made her long-awaited comeback.
On Friday, July 26, the iconic musician, 56, closed out the day-long event with a stunning rendition of Édith Piaf’s song «Hymne A L’Amour» (Hymn to Love), which she sang live from the base of the Eiffel Tower.

The legendary performer sparkled from head to toe in a gorgeous long-sleeve white Dior gown as she flawlessly belted out her impeccable vocals over a piano arrangement.
This is Dion’s first public concert since being diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome in August 2022. She spoke candidly about the condition in her recently released Prime Video documentary, I Am: Céline Dion.
She had earlier played Piaf’s song in commemoration of the victims of the horrifying terror attacks that year at the Bataclan music theater in France at the American Music Awards.

Shortly before Friday’s opening ceremonies got underway, French broadcasters revealed Dion’s participation, sarcastically referring to the information as the «worst kept secret.»
Rumors of the «All By Myself» star’s impending appearance were stoked earlier in the week when she was seen posing for pictures with fans outside the French capital’s Royal Monceau Hotel.
At the Seine River earlier in the day, Lady Gaga opened the Summer Olympics with a performance of «Mon Truc en Plumes.»

Dion then made her musical comeback. The 38-year-old singer of «Bad Romance» was sighted in Paris a few days before the opening ceremonies, which set up a series of rumors that culminated in the latter’s performance.
As Dion revealed in an April interview with Vogue France that she wasn’t sure whether she would ever perform live again,
her surprise appearance on Friday at the opening ceremony was not unexpected, even if Variety had already hinted at her comeback performance earlier this week.
