Christina Aguilera has finally explained how she lost 40 pounds before her concerts
Christina Aguilera has finally revealed just how she achieved her staggering 40lb weight loss – and still “has a booty”.
The Beautiful songstress debuted her new figure in the opening show of her Las Vegas residency on Tuesday (January 2), dazzling fans in an array of tight-fitting leotards, thigh-high leather boots and teeny corsets.
But after years of her weight fluctuating, it seems the star is finally loving her body.
And her secret? Well, it’s sticking to a balanced diet and a strict exercise regime. She’s experimented with various diets over the years,
and after the birth of her son Max in 2008, dropped an incredible 40 pounds by restricting her calorie intake to just 1,600 per day.
Christina also confessed she’s followed the Rainbow Diet in the past, sticking to mostly plant-based foods and eating “brightly coloured fruits and vegetables” daily.
She would eat foods based around a specific colour each day – red, yellow, orange, and so on – for anti-inflammatory and antioxidant purposes.
But in 2020, she quit dieting entirely and focused her efforts on cutting down on sugary snacks and eating more whole foods.
In order to stay happy and healthy in her own body, she’s worked with celebrity personal trainer Tee Sorge – incorporating heavy weights with cardio and strength training.
She told L’Officiel Italia: “I’m not going on a diet, get over it. Each of us is an individual and people judge you based on your differences, on what makes you unique. You have to accept that beauty and to hell with everything else.»
She’s also previously told Health: “Entering this business, I hated being super skinny. Once I turned 21, I started filling out a little bit, and I was loving my new curves. I appreciated having a booty.»
