Beyoncé was left «in shock» after winning Best Country Album at the 2025 Grammys, with Taylor Swift presenting her the prestigious award.
Beyoncé made history by winning her first Grammy for Best Country Album at the 2025 Grammys.
The Cowboy Carter singer, who was presented the award by Taylor Swift, became the first Black woman to receive this honor.
In addition to this win, Beyoncé was nominated for 10 other categories and claimed the Best Country Duo/Group Performance for her collaboration with Miley Cyrus, “II Most Wanted,” which was awarded before the telecast.
«I’m in shock,» Beyoncé said as she accepted the award. «I want to thank God for allowing me to still do what I love after so many years. I’d like to thank all the incredible country artists who embraced this album we worked so hard on.»
Beyoncé also reflected on the barriers within the music industry: «I think sometimes genre can be a Cold War that holds us in place as artists.
I just want to encourage people to keep pushing through,» she said. «Stay persistent.»
She continued, «I want to thank my beautiful family and all the artists who collaborated on this project.
This album wouldn’t have been the same without you. And of course, I thank God again and my amazing fans. I’m still in shock — thank you so much for this honor.»
Beyoncé’s album is a genre-defying masterpiece, blending country with elements of various styles.
It’s conceptualized as a radio broadcast from the fictional KNTRY Radio Texas, with country legends like Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, and Linda Martell serving as disc jockeys.
The 27-track album features collaborations with Miley Cyrus, Post Malone, and even Beyoncé’s 6½-year-old daughter Rumi.
Swift, who was confirmed to present at the Grammys days before the event, is nominated for six awards this year.
These include Best Music Video, Song of the Year, and Record of the Year for “Fortnight” with Post Malone, as well as Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for «us» with Gracie Abrams, and Best Pop Vocal Album and Album of the Year for The Tortured Poets Department.
Both Beyoncé and Swift are contenders for Album of the Year.
If Beyoncé wins, it will mark her first victory in this category, while Swift stands to make history with her record-breaking fifth win in this prestigious category.
