Benny Blanco confesses he’s «so scared» that Selena Gomez will «wake up» and decide to change her mind about him.
In a recent cover interview with Interview Magazine, producer and musician Benny Blanco, 36, opened up about his feelings towards his fiancée, Selena Gomez, 32, admitting he’s «so scared» she’ll change her mind about him.
Blanco shared, «I worship the ground she walks on, and I feel like she feels the same way about me.
There’s no ego between us. She’s praying for me to succeed, and I’m doing the same for her.»
He continued, «I wake up every morning, and I know she does too, thinking, ‘How can I make her life better?’
Holding her isn’t enough—I want to be part of her completely. There’s something I feel for her that I can’t even describe. I’m so sappy.»
Gomez responded to his heartfelt words, calling them «very romantic.» Blanco added, «I just smile all day.
But I’m terrified she’s going to wake up one day and say, ‘What? No.'»
In turn, Gomez reassured him, saying, «You’re stuck with me.»
The couple also discussed their upcoming surprise album, I Said I Love You First, which will be released on March 21.
Despite initial nerves about collaborating, they had a plan in case things didn’t work out.
Blanco explained, «We said from the start, ‘If this ever feels off, we cancel it immediately,’ because we knew what we had was too valuable.»
Gomez reflected, «I didn’t feel pressure. I was just nervous at first, but as we worked through it, everything fell into place with love and hard work.»
Gomez, who got engaged to Blanco in December 2024, took to Instagram to announce the album’s release and shared their first song, «Scared of Loving You,» available now.
She wrote, «I always trick you guys 🥰. My new album, I Said I Love You First, with my best friend @itsbennyblanco, is out on 3/21 🖤.»
Blanco responded in the comments with, «I love you baby,» showing their affectionate bond.
