Ben Affleck appears stunned as he arrives home to find the Pacific Palisades fire quickly approaching his property.

Ben Affleck was met with an unexpected and unsettling sight when he returned home on Tuesday, as a large wildfire threatening the west side of Los Angeles became visible near his residence.

The 52-year-old actor was spotted pulling into the bachelor home he has been renting in the prestigious Pacific Palisades neighborhood since his breakup with Jennifer Lopez. His reaction appeared to show shock as he arrived with his car window down, despite the poor air quality from the nearby fire.

The wildfire has already caused significant damage, destroying several homes in the affluent area, and has even led to the cancellation of multiple Hollywood premieres, including the one for his ex-wife Jennifer’s latest film, Unstoppable.

Though Ben serves as a producer for the movie alongside his close friend Matt Damon, it remains unclear whether he planned to attend the event, as he had previously refrained from attending promotional activities to let Jennifer’s work take the spotlight.

Ben was dressed for the evening in a sharp navy blue suit and a white dress shirt, though he kept it casual without a tie and left the shirt unbuttoned.

While the full extent of the fire’s reach is uncertain, it has already impacted numerous celebrity homes, with more stars living in the area. Pacific Palisades, where Ben resides, is home to a variety of celebrities, including Tom Hanks, Reese Witherspoon, and Adam Sandler, among others.

Actor James Woods shared footage of the flames on Instagram, announcing that he was evacuating the area.

The fire has already consumed over 1,200 acres of the area, which is scattered with large estates nestled in hilly terrain, providing ample fuel for the blaze compared to denser inland neighborhoods.

Ben’s new Pacific Palisades home, which he bought for $20.5 million after separating from Jennifer, is far smaller than the 38,000 square-foot mansion he once shared with her. Still, at 6,247 square feet, it’s a sizable residence with five bedrooms and six bathrooms.

Since the split, Ben had also been renting a place in Brentwood, not far from his current home, keeping him close to his ex-wife Jennifer Garner and their children.

Despite the separation, both Jennifer and Ben have managed to stay in proximity to each other in the same general area.

As the fire intensified, numerous Hollywood figures expressed their shock and concern, with Chris Pratt urging his followers to send prayers for those affected. The fire has forced over 30,000 people to evacuate the area, and some, like Spencer Pratt, saw their homes in the Pacific Palisades destroyed.

Meanwhile, the Getty Villa, a well-known museum on the west side, was also threatened by the flames.

Though some vegetation was burned, the buildings and artwork were protected, thanks to proactive fire mitigation measures.

A second fire broke out in Altadena, east of Los Angeles, forcing residents in Pasadena to evacuate.

As the chaos spread, heavy traffic jams ensued, with some people abandoning their vehicles and walking to safety, while emergency responders had to bulldoze cars to clear access for fire crews.
