At the Toronto Eras Tour Show, Taylor Swift invites Gracie Abrams to perform a mashup of their songs «Us» and «Out of the Woods»

Gracie Abrams and Taylor Swift were back on stage together!

During the third night of her six-show Eras Tour run at Toronto’s Rogers Centre on Saturday, November 16, the 34-year-old pop queen was joined by her 25-year-old pal and supporting act.

Swift’s 1989 song «Out of the Woods» and their joint song «Us» from Abrams’ The Secret of Us album were unexpectedly mashups there.

According to a fan-recorded video posted on X (previously Twitter), the two singer-songwriters collaborated onstage during Swift’s surprise song set, where she played an acoustic guitar for their mashup.

Although Abrams, who initially served as Swift’s opening act for her 2023 Eras Tour, started the mashup by singing «Us,» Swift interpolated «Out of the Woods» by introducing lyrics from the 2014 single midway through.

Swift proceeded to sing her 2014 song at the conclusion of the show, with Abrams providing the accompaniment.

Then, when the show came to an end, Abrams bent down to Swift and gave her a massive embrace onstage.

While Swift is in Canada, Abrams will continue to accompany her on tour, which will include three more appearances at the Rogers Centre and three more gigs in Vancouver that end on December 8.

“My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys” with “This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things” on guitar and “False God” with “‘Tis the Damn Season” on piano, as well as “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” with “Mine” on guitar and “Evermore” and “Peter” on piano, are Swift’s other surprise songs in Toronto thus far. Meanwhile, «You’re on Your Own, Kid» was played on the piano together with «Long Story Short» on the third night.

Swift and Abrams performed together in London’s Wembley Stadium in June to launch their collaboration «Us,» which Abrams has subsequently described as a «out of body» experience.

«To see somebody have the ability to, in a stadium, make it feel like you and her are the only two people there, that was hugely important for me to see,» Abrams stated.
