Ariana Grande’s full name appears in the credits of the film Wicked
Later this month, Grande’s latest film will be shown in theaters around the United States.
When it comes to her name, Ariana Grande is returning to the fundamentals.
According to E! News, the 31-year-old singer and actress decided to use her full name, «Ariana Grande-Butera,» instead of her stage name in the credits of her latest film, Wicked.
Her complete name combines the names of her father, Ed Butera, and mother, Joan Grande. When Grande was eight years old, her mother, Joan, and her father, a graphic artist, divorced.
The shift follows the singer of «We Can’t Be Friends» getting back in touch with her father, whom she had lost contact with in 2013, in recent years.
Grande called the incident «one of the hardest things» she has ever had to cope with the following year.

In her 2018 hit song «Thank U, Next,» she mentioned her connection with her father briefly.
She sung, «One day I’ll walk down the aisle/ holding hands with my mama/ I’ll be thanking my dad ’cause she grew from the drama.»
The singer posted a picture of herself and her father standing behind the scenes at one of her shows on her Instagram Story the following year, writing, «Foreva.»
According to Elle Magazine, Grande even altered the song’s lyrics during the 2020 Grammy Awards to read, «I’ll be thanking my dad ’cause he’s really awesome.»
The Nickelodeon alumna’s name in the Wicked credits isn’t the only change; earlier this year, she talked about her vocal adjustments for her role as Glinda in the movie, which she co-stars in with singer and actor Cynthia Erivo and her boyfriend Ethan Slater.
She said, «I just spent a lot of time playing a character every single day.» «Muscle memory is a real thing; I trained my voice to do various things for a long time before leaving for London and before all of this.»
