Angelina Jolie and ‘lover’ Akala show off their matching black clothes on the red carpet
At Friday’s London premiere of her new movie, Maria, Angelina Jolie appeared to coordinate with her reported lover Akala.
At the 68th BFI London Film Festival, the 49-year-old Hollywood mainstay, whose ex-husband Brad Pitt is seeing Ines de Ramon, and her purported boyfriend, 40, both wore black slacks and jackets.
Jolie wore a three-piece pantsuit with a button-up vest and smiled for the cameras as she walked the red carpet.
She casually posed with her hands in her pockets, looking effortlessly fashionable. Black leather boots with square toes completed her ensemble.
For his part, the musician-turned-activist wrapped a two-toned scarf over his neck and donned a turtleneck underneath his coat.
When the couple was seen leaving the Maleficent actress’ hotel during the August Venice International Film Festival, it stoked romance suspicions.
Since then, Angelina and Akala have been spotted together in public on many occasions.
According to insiders, the two celebrities are only pals despite relationship rumors.
When the political activist attended the Calabash Literary Festival in Jamaica in May 2023 with the actress and her children, Shiloh, 18, and Zahara, 19, it sparked speculation about the relationship status of Angelina and Akala.
Akala, real name Kingslee James McLean Daley, was described as «very protective of them as he shepherded them around» by an eyewitness at the time.
Six months later, they ate supper together in Milan.
According to an informant who spoke to People, Jolie «is friends with [Akala] and his partner, Chanelle [Newman], who was also there,» despite their similar attire at the London premiere.
The performer’s manager and business partner is Newman.
Brad has since moved on with Ines de Ramon, a 31-year-old girlfriend.
The jewelry designer and actor moved in together after becoming romantically acquainted in late 2022.
