American actor George Clooney is known for his extravagant gestures!

One such example is from 2013, when he gave 14 of his closest friends a suitcase each, each containing one million dollars in cash.

Clooney explained that he wanted to repay his friends for the kindness they had shown him during difficult times in his life:

«I had just been paid well for the movie Gravity… and I suddenly realized that all I truly have are the people close to me.

Over the past 35 years, they’ve helped me in so many ways. I’ve slept on their couches when I had no money, they’ve lent me money, and they’ve come to my aid whenever I needed it.

I’ve also helped them whenever I could. We’re all great friends… And if I ever get hit by a bus, all my friends are named in my will.

So why wait until I’m under the bus? I cashed out $14 million, split it into suitcases, invited my friends over, opened the map, and showed them all the places I’ve been thanks to them and everything I’ve seen because of them.
