A Retired Police Dog Breaks Down in Tears Upon Reuniting with Her Former Partner
Retired Police Dog Wangwang Gets Emotional During Heartwarming Reunion with Former Handler

Wangwang, an eight-year-old German shepherd, retired from duty in 2019—but her years of service clearly left a lasting impression.
Once a dedicated sniffer dog for the Xichuan Police Department in Henan province, central China, Wangwang had an important role conducting security checks.
After her retirement, she was adopted into a loving new home, but parting ways with her handler was not easy.
According to Xichuan Police, “Although our dogs are well taken care of at the training facility, officers often can’t spare the time to provide the kind of companionship retired dogs need.”
Recently, Wangwang had the chance to see her former partner again—and the moment was filled with raw emotion.
A video posted by the Xichuan Police on Douyin (China’s version of TikTok) captured the touching reunion.

In the clip, Wangwang sprints over to her handler before flopping onto her back for affectionate belly rubs, her eyes visibly filled with tears.
«The dog’s eyes are watering—such loyalty! Please take good care of her,» one viewer commented.
The post noted, «Though Wangwang’s fur has begun to gray, she’s clearly enjoying her retirement—and putting on a bit of weight.»
Another user added, “You can see just how much she misses her handler. When a dog greets you belly-up, it means deep trust.”
The emotional video of Wangwang’s reunion continues to melt hearts, proving once again how strong the bond between a police dog and its handler can be.
