This discovery caused confusion, as domestic rabbits rarely survive alone in the wild, and no local breeders or owners were known.
The rescuers pointed out a key difference: wild rabbits are born with fur and open eyes, whereas domestic rabbits are born blind and hairless.
To clarify, the team shared a side-by-side photo comparing a newborn wild rabbit with the rescued domestic one.
